Managing Your SAGE Connect Integration

  • Updated

With the SAGE Connect Integration activated in your DistributorCentral account, your product data will automatically update in SAGE. This data push occurs every time you make changes to your product information in DistributorCentral.

Now that your integration is active, it’s important to be aware of key considerations when adding or updating products in DistributorCentral.

Adding new products

When creating a new product in DistributorCentral, you must assign both a SAGE Category and a SAGE Theme to ensure the product displays correctly in SAGE's database. These can be added via the SAGE Attributes section found in your product's Attributes export.

Troubleshooting Issues

Since DistributorCentral and SAGE are separate platforms with different data specifications, issues may arise when syncing product information. If a product is showing in DistributorCentral but not in SAG - or if updates made in DC are not reflecting in SAGE - follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check character counts
Both DistributorCentral and SAGE have different character limits for certain data fields. Make sure that none of your product fields exceed SAGE’s character count limits.

  2. Verify required fields
The data fields required by DistributorCentral may differ from those required by SAGE. Ensure that all of SAGE’s required fields are filled out in your DistributorCentral product data. Missing or incomplete required fields can prevent a product from being displayed in SAGE.

  3. Check SAGE modules
If you've reviewed the data field specifications and are still experiencing issues, verify that the Product Data Download and Product Data Upload modules are enabled in your SAGE account. These modules are necessary for the integration to work properly.
