Add SAGE Categories using DC's Attribute importer/exporter!
- Export your product attributes
- Update column CE (sage_categories) in the exported spreadsheet on the Product Data sheet
- Upload your updated attributes file to DC for import
1. Export your product attributes
- Select Products in the left menu
- Click Bulk Product Manager
- On the Bulk Product Manager page, find the Export Product Data section & click Customize Export
- Ensure that the "Send to" email address is correct
- Under the Prepare your export file section, select DistributorCentral data (if its not already selected)
- Then select Product Attributes in "Data type included in export" dropdown
- Click Begin Export
- You'll receive an email from itsupport@distributorcentral.com with a link to download your Attribute Spreadsheet
- Open the downloaded Spreadsheet to begin making alterations to your Product Attributes
2. Update column CE (sage_categories) in the spreadsheet
Add SAGE's predefined categories to a cell in column CE
SAGE's predefined category limit is 2 per product
- Find the product that you need to update in the left product details section and move to the column CE in red to the far right.
- With the Categories cell selected, click the drop-down menu found to the right of the cell
- Select the category you'd like to add & repeat until all predefined attribute values needed are added to this attribute cell
- When you're done, save your updated spreadshee
3. Upload your SAGE Categories to DC's Attribute importer
- Select Products in the left menu
- Click Product Data File Manager
- On the Product Data File Manager page, click Upload Import Spreadsheet to right
The Product Data Spreadsheet Upload box will open - Choose Product Attributes in the Update Type dropdown
- Click Select file
- Find and upload your Product Attributes Spreadsheet
- Click Save in the bottom right corner of the Product Data Spreadsheet Upload
The import will run automatically and your SAGE categories will be applied to your products. "Complete" will appear under the Status column in the Imports table to the right of your Attributes import.
