How to Change a Website's Name and URL

Change a Website's Name

The website name is what will display in your browser's tab when the website is open, but also it's the headline that your customers will see in search engines just above the website description. Here is how to change the name of your website:

1. While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
2. In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager
3. When the Website Hosting Manager page loads, find the website you want to edit, and to the far right click the Manage button
4. After clicking on the “Manage” button, you will be taken to a page where you can edit the Details of the website, including the Name & URL
5. Click in the text field to the right of the Name
6. Type in the new website name information
7. Click the blue save icon that appears in the right side of that text field to save the new website Name

Change a Website's default URL

The default URL that your website is given will look something like this: yourCompanyName .dcpromosite.com. You can change the section that comes before “dcpromosite.com” - here is how:

1. While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
2. In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager
3. When the Website Hosting Manager page loads, find the website you want to edit, and to the far right click the Manage button
4. After clicking on the “Manage” button, you will be taken to a page where you can edit the Details of the website, including the Name & URL
5. Click in the text field to the right of the URL
6. Type in the new website URL (this must be a unique name that is not already in use within DistributorCentral)
7. Click the blue save icon that appears in the right side of that text field to save the new website URL
