Once a domain and website are created in your account, you can add a domain link to a DistributorCentral website. This can be accomplished within your website manager or the domain name manager.
Linking a domain from your website manager
- While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
- In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager
- When the Websites hosting manager page loads, and click Manage to the right of your website
- In the Domains section on the right, click Link Domain
- Enter in the domain hostname, in most cases, you will enter "www"
- Select your domain from the list to the right
- Click Add to complete the domain mapping
- Repeat steps 4-7 to add a mapping for customers who type your domain name without the "www"
- When you get back to step 5, leave the Host Name field blank before selecting your domain to the right
- Once you select your domain, you will see the SEO Redirect section appear:
An SEO Redirect sends the user originally visiting the URL to a designated new URL. This important feature helps to improve the SEO ranking of the primary URL for your website and prevents duplicate content - In the SEO dropdown list, select your "www" domain mapping
- Click Add to complete the setup
Linking your domain from the domain name manager
- While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
- In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager
- When the "Websites” manager loads, click on the Domains tab at the top
- In the Domain Manager, click Link Website to the right of your domain
- In the “Link Website to Domain” pop-up screen, click in the Host Name field to add your cursor before the domain name
- Enter "www" in the Host Name field before your domain name
- Next, select a website that you want to link this domain to, in the Website dropdown
- Click Add to complete the setup
- Repeat steps 4-7 to add a mapping for customers who type your domain name without the "www"
- When you get to step 6 leave the Host Name field without a domain prefix
- Once you select your website, you will see the SEO Redirect section appear:
