How to Link a Domain to a Website

Once a domain and website are created in your account, you can add a domain link to a DistributorCentral website. This can be accomplished within your website manager or the domain name manager.

Linking a domain from your website manager

1. While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
2. In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager
3. When the Websites hosting manager page loads, and click Manage to the right of your website
   
   
4. In the Domains section on the right, click Link Domain
   
   
   
5. Enter in the domain hostname, in most cases, you will enter "www"
   
   
6. Select your domain from the list to the right
   
   
7. Click Add to complete the domain mapping
8. Repeat steps 4-7 to add a mapping for customers who type your domain name without the "www"
   1. When you get back to step 5, leave the Host Name field blank before selecting your domain to the right
   2. Once you select your domain, you will see the SEO Redirect section appear: 
      An SEO Redirect sends the user originally visiting the URL to a designated new URL. This important feature helps to improve the SEO ranking of the primary URL for your website and prevents duplicate content
   3. In the SEO dropdown list, select your "www" domain mapping
      
      
   4. Click Add to complete the setup
      

Linking your domain from the domain name manager

1. While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the Websites menu on the left-hand side
2. In the submenu that appears, click on Hosting Manager 
3. When the "Websites” manager loads, click on the Domains tab at the top
4. In the Domain Manager, click Link Website to the right of your domain
   
   
   
5. In the “Link Website to Domain” pop-up screen, click in the Host Name field to add your cursor before the domain name
   
   
6. Enter "www" in the Host Name field before your domain name
7. Next, select a website that you want to link this domain to, in the Website dropdown
   
   
8. Click Add to complete the setup
   
   
   
9. Repeat steps 4-7 to add a mapping for customers who type your domain name without the "www"
   1. When you get to step 6 leave the Host Name field without a domain prefix
   2. Once you select your website, you will see the SEO Redirect section appear:

   3. In the SEO dropdown list, select your "www" domain mapping
