Integrations: Add Google Analytics to Your Website

*Please Note: You will need a Google Analytics account setup before you can follow the steps below.*


 

How to Track Your DC Website Page Activity in Google

 

First copy your Google site tag from your Google Analytics account:

  1. From your Google Analytics account, click on the Admin tab
  2. In the Properties section, click on Tracking Info
  3. Next, follow the steps below, under the correct Google Analytics version you have:
    1. If you have Google Analytics version 3:
      1. Under Tracking Info, click on Tracking Code
      2. Under the Global Site Tag (gtag.js) section copy all the code that is shown in the box
    2. If you have Google Analytics version 4:
      1. Under Data Streams click on Web
      2. Next, click on the data stream below
      3. Click on Global site tag (gtag.js) under the Add new on-page tag
      4. Copy all the code shown in the box

Next, add the copied code from the above steps to your website:

  1. Go to your DistributorCentral Website Editor (follow these steps below for help)
    1. Login to your DistributorCentral Dashboard
    2. Click Websites on the left side menu
    3. Click Hosting Manager
    4. Click Manage next to your website
    5. Click Edit. 
    6. You website editor will load
  2. Inside the Website Editor, click the Settings tab found at the top of the left menuadv_3_2.png

  3. Under the Global section, click on Edit Meta Tags

  4. Paste the entire code from your Google Analytics page on any blank line on this Global Meta Tags screen:

  5. Click done in the bottom right corner

  6. Click Save

How to Track Your DC Website's Order Activity in Google

 

First, find and copy your Tracking ID from Google Analytics:

  1. From your Google Analytics account, click on the Admin tab
  2. In the Properties section, click on Tracking Info
  3. Under Tracking Info, click on Tracking Code
  4. Under the Tracking ID section, copy the code that is shown (Example: UA-12345678)

Now that you have your Tracking Code copied, add it to your DC Websites: 

  1. Go to your DistributorCentral Website Editor (follow these steps below for help)
    1. Log in to your DistributorCentral Dashboard
    2. Click Websites on the left side menu
    3. Click Hosting Manager
    4. Click Manage next to your website
  2. Click Preferences link to the left of the Edit buttonadv_3_7.png

  3. Select Orders in the left sectionadv_3_8.png

  4. Scroll down to the "Have a Google Analytics account?..." preferenceadv_3_9.png

  5. Paste the Tracking ID you copied from your Google Analytics account into the text box.
  6. Lastly, click the Save button at the top of bottom of the page

That's it! Now the Google engines will scan your website, find this script and begin indexing your website content. 

View and manage the results from your Google Analytics account.
