Learn how to update your DC product data in bulk

The following steps are for suppliers who use a DC spreadsheet to manage their product data in DC.

There are 3 primary steps to update your DC products:

  1. Export a spreadsheet of your DC products to get started
  2. Update the product information in the spreadsheet you just exported from DC
  3. Upload the updated file back into DC through the Product Data File Manager for import

1. Export a spreadsheet of your DC products


  1. Select Products in the left menu

  2. Click Product Data File Manager

  3. On the Product Data File Manager page, find the Export Product Data section to the right


  4. Click "Customize Export"
  5. Ensure that the "Send to" email address is correct

  6. Then select Product Details in "Data type included in export" dropdown

  7. Click Begin Export

  8. Click Download Spreadsheet in the email you receive from info@distributorcentral.com to download the file


2. Update the product information in the spreadsheet you just exported from DC


  1. Open the DC product spreadsheet that was exported and downloaded to your computer

  2. With the spreadsheet open, you can start making changes to your product information

  2. Save the updated file to your computer

  3. Next, you'll upload the back into DC for import


3. Upload the updated file back into DC for import


  1. Select Products in the left menu

  2. Click Product Data File Manager

  3. On the Product Data File Manager page, click Upload Import Spreadsheet to right
    The Product Data Spreadsheet Upload box will open


  4. Choose Product Details in the Update Type dropdown

  5. Click Select file

  6. Find and upload your Product Data Spreadsheet

  7. Click Save in the bottom right corning of the Product Data Spreadsheet Upload

Once uploaded, your product updates will be imported to DistributorCentral. In the meantime you can refer to the Imports table to track the progress of your import.
