What are Contact Types?

Your company contact types tell DC where to send specific information related to orders, artwork, billing, and more. 

In addition to being used for automatic actions by DC, this information is available to distributors who use it to connect with the correct contact regarding order or product questions.

In this article, you'll find available contact types and a description of how each one is used in DC.

 

Main Contact
The default contact that’s setup in your account when it was created.
All correspondence types fall back to your main contact if no other contact is setup

 

Artwork Contact

The Artwork contact displays in the shopping cart on the "Imprint / Personalize Your Product" page. DC will send Artwork files uploaded to orders to the Artwork Contact as well.
Artwork correspondences fall back to your main contact if no Artwork contact is setup

Billing Contact

The Billing contact displays on invoices created for your customers.
Billing correspondences fall back to your main contact if no Billing contact is setup

Customer Service Contact

The Customer Service contact displays in the "Request More Info" section on product detail pages in DistributorCentral.
Customer Service correspondence types fall back to your main contact if no other no Customer Service contact is setup

Orders Contact

The default contact that’s setup in your account when it was created.
All correspondence types fall back to your main contact if no other contact is setup

 

Proofs Contact

The Proofs contact will be sent notifications proof approvals or changes. These notifications are also stored in the order's correspondences.
Proof correspondences fall back to your main contact if no Proofs contact is setup

Shipping - Primary Contact

The Shipping - Primary contact displays as the distributors order shipping address when entering orders in DC.
Shipping - Primary correspondences fall back to your main contact if no Shipping - Primary contact is setup



The following contact types are for internal records only. DC doesn't use these for automatic actions:

  • Credit Contact
  • Mail Department Contact
  • Sales Contact
  • Shipping - Other Contact
  • Webmaster Contact
  • Other Contact
